History

The Frankston Depot Library and Museum was chartered in 1981 and established in 1985 by Kathleen Cook Fitzgerald and area citizens in Frankston's 1902 railroad depot, which stands on its original site on the south side of the town square. A two-story former Justice Courthouse building was moved beside the depot in 1985 to house the Kathleen C. Fitzgerald Museum, which interprets the history and development of the Frankston area. The library holds roughly 14,000 materials.
