History
Jonesville served as the second county seat of Angelina County from 1854 to 1858. The town grew up after Martin William Jones brought his family from Arkansas in the mid-1840s and settled southeast of present Huntington. The Texas Centennial Commission erected a marker near the townsite in 1936; the Jonesville Cemetery is now part of Huntington.
