History
The Archer County Courthouse in Archer City was built in 1891-92 in a Romanesque style of brown sandstone from a nearby quarry, replacing an 1880 wooden courthouse. A 1928 remodeling removed the tower, cupola and mansard roofs and added a third floor, and a Texas Historical Commission grant funded a restoration completed in 2004. The building is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark.
