History

The Longhorn Museum preserves the history of Atascosa County, tracing ranching, farming, and home life from the era of longhorn cattle and mustangs through the region's uranium mines, oil fields, and coal strip mines. Its collection includes carriages, stagecoaches, a horse-drawn hearse, antique wagons, and taxidermied animals, plus a Union Pacific caboose displayed outside beside an antique depot.
