History

St. Stanislaus Catholic Church was founded by Silesian Polish immigrant families who settled Bandera in 1855, making it the second-oldest Polish parish in the United States. The present native-limestone church was built in 1876, and its steeple was completed in 1906. Associated buildings included a convent and Catholic school erected in 1874.
