History
The Allen-Bell House in Bastrop was home from 1859 to 1866 to Major Robert D. Allen, commandant of the Bastrop Military Institute. In 1866 the Bell brothers purchased the property for their mother, giving the house its dual name. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places among the historic homes of Bastrop.
