History
The W. F. Schaeffer House is one of the historic residences recognized in Bastrop's National Register of Historic Places listing of December 22, 1978. It is a contributing property in the 'Historic and Architectural Resources of Bastrop' nomination, which placed about 131 buildings on the Register at once. The house belongs to the district that gave Bastrop its standing as the 'Most Historic Small Town in Texas.'
