History
The Medio Creek Bridge near Normanna is an 1897 steel Pratt through-truss bridge that carried the main road between Beeville and San Antonio across Medio Creek. It was fabricated by the New Jersey Iron and Steel Company and shipped as a kit, with the roughly $3,990 construction cost funded through the sale of Bee County school-fund bonds. Closed to traffic in 1987 when a new bridge was built alongside it, the span is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
