Quarters S is one of seven Naval Air Station Chase Field buildings individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was part of the officer quarters at the Beeville-area naval air station, which operated from 1943 until its 1993 closure and was named for Lt. Commander Nathan Brown Chase, killed in a 1925 training accident at Pearl Harbor.
