History
Old St. Luke's Episcopal Church at 438 N. Wall Street in Belton was completed in 1874 of limestone rubble masonry in a Vernacular Gothic style and consecrated in April 1875. It is the oldest standing church in Bell County and was the first building in Belton added to the National Register of Historic Places, listed in 1974. After the congregation outgrew the building, it was deconsecrated around 1969 and sold to the Belton Fine Arts Association for $3,000.
