History

Dallas Cemetery near Holland in Bell County stands on land donated by Alexander James Dallas, a Republic of Texas pioneer and one of the founders of Salado, who bought 160 acres at Darrs Creek in 1854. In his 1879 will he bequeathed the cemetery and its right-of-way to the neighborhood and public. The hilltop burial ground has since been recorded as a Historic Texas Cemetery.
