History
Jacala opened in 1949 and is the oldest continuously family-owned Mexican restaurant in San Antonio, a fixture of the city's Tex-Mex culinary tradition. Its building incorporates faux bois concrete sculpture in the style associated with artist Dionicio Rodriguez, and the restaurant was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.
