History
Built by German immigrant Anton F. Krause, this one-story single-pen log house with full dovetailed corners anchored a family farm in south Bexar County that his descendants occupied for more than a century after they settled the 110-acre tract in the mid-1870s. One of the few surviving log houses in the county, it represents the agricultural heritage of the San Antonio area, and its National Register nomination description was prepared in 2007 by the San Antonio Conservation Society.
