History
Formed in 1981 by a group of San Antonio-area aviators, the Alamo Liaison Squadron restores and flies World War II-era liaison aircraft, or "L-birds," at Cannon Field, the former home and workshop of Hardy Cannon. Its airworthy collection includes Taylorcraft L-2, Aeronca L-3, Piper L-4, Stinson L-5 and Interstate L-6 examples, small unarmed planes once used for observation and light transport. The Texas Historical Commission has designated it a bona fide flying historical museum.
