History
The Wetmore Community Cemetery, in northeast San Antonio at Higgins and Stahl roads, was established in 1885 on land within a tract originally granted to the widow of an Alamo defender. It served the German farming community of Wetmore (earlier called Seay), and among those interred are early settlers such as Jakob Goll, who in 1861 founded the first Sons of Hermann lodge in Texas, and members of the Reeh family, among the first German immigrants to the area.
