History

The Gunsten and Lofise Grimland House stands southwest of Clifton along FM 219 in the Norse Historic District of Bosque County, part of the largest Norwegian colony in the American Southwest, settled beginning in 1854. The house is among the farmsteads documented in the 'Norwegian Settlement of Bosque County' thematic nomination and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
