History
The Joseph and Anna Olson Farm lies in the Norse community northwest of Clifton, the core of the largest Norwegian colony west of the Mississippi River. Norwegians began settling this part of Bosque County in 1854, drawn by 320-acre state land grants and the area's timber, water, and limestone, and they raised stone and log farmsteads that still define the rural landscape. The Olson farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 22, 1983 among the surviving properties documenting that pioneer settlement.
