History

The United States Post Office and Courthouse in Texarkana was completed in 1933 on State Line Avenue and is the only federal building in the country sited squarely in two states, straddling the Texas-Arkansas line. Predominantly Beaux Arts in form with occasional Art Deco touches, the five-story building is faced in gray Arkansas limestone over a base of Texas pink granite. It still serves the federal courts of both states and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.
