History

Established in 2009 in historic downtown Freeport at 311 East Park Avenue, the Freeport Historical Museum presents more than 300 years of local history through original artifacts and models. Its exhibits span Spanish colonial Texas, the town's 1912 founding, and Freeport's era as a leading shrimping port, and include a maritime collection and a century-old annex known as the Heritage House.
