History
The Parker Lumber Company Complex at 419 N. Main Street grew from a lumber business founded by George S. Parker in the 1880s. At its height from about 1910 through the 1930s the operation included lumber sheds, a cotton warehouse and gin, a cottonseed warehouse, a grist mill and a stock yard. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987, the complex today houses a coffee shop that preserves the old vault.
