History

The Sam Houston Sanders Corps of Cadets Center, opened in 1992 on the Texas A&M University campus, chronicles the school's Corps of Cadets from its 1876 origins to today. It houses thousands of Aggie artifacts, the Metzger-Sanders firearm collection, more than sixty exhibits and hundreds of photographs, and it honors traditions such as the 12th Man, Silver Taps and Muster. The center is named for benefactor Sam Houston Sanders, class of 1922, who was on the 1922 team when the 12th Man tradition was born.
