History

The Museum of the American G.I. in College Station honors American servicemen and servicewomen and maintains one of the South's finest collections of restored, operational military vehicles, from a World War I FT-17 tank to World War II Sherman tanks and M18 Hellcats. Exhibits include uniforms, weapons, wartime posters, the original "Hanoi Hilton" prison door and the Texas Vietnam Heroes memorial of 3,417 dog tags. Its annual Living History weekend features the largest World War II battle reenactment in the South.
