History
The Brazos County Courthouse in Bryan, the county's sixth, was designed by the young Texas firm Caudill, Rowlett & Scott (CRS) and built in 1954-1955, with completion in September 1956. It was CRS's first courthouse commission and is often cited as the first decentralized courthouse facility in the United States, deliberately distributing trials, tax collection, deed recording and other functions rather than concentrating them in a single monumental building.
