History
The Gage-Van Sickle House in Alpine was built in 1886 by E. L. Gage, a pioneer surveyor, rancher, and builder of the well-known Gage Hotel. For a time it served as the meeting place for Brewster County officials while the county's permanent courthouse was under construction. The two-story stone-chimney house stands at 109 N. 3rd Street.
