The Mayfield Dugout is a historic dugout dwelling located about seven miles northwest of Silverton in Briscoe County, representing the earth-sheltered homes early settlers built on the treeless Texas High Plains. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, one of only two NRHP sites in the county.
