History

The Heritage Museum in Falfurrias preserves the frontier heritage of Brooks County through artifacts, records, photographs, and pioneer relics, including arrowheads, saddles, antique appliances, and a room dedicated to the Texas Rangers. Among its featured subjects is Don Pedrito Jaramillo, the revered curandero (folk healer) who lived near Los Olmos Creek and treated the sick from 1881 until his death in 1907; the museum displays portraits and mementos of his legacy.
