History
The Martin & Frances Lehnis Railroad Museum in Brownwood sits across from the historic Santa Fe Depot and Fred Harvey House and interprets the railroad history of Central Texas and the American Southwest. It grew from thousands of artifacts collected by Martin "Buster" Lehnis, a Santa Fe welder of nearly 50 years, and his wife Frances, whose collection was donated to the city of Brownwood. Exhibits include lanterns, interactive telegraph equipment, model trains, and outdoor rail cars visitors can board, including a Santa Fe caboose and a Pullman business car.
