History
Wolf Valley Cemetery served the pioneer community of Wolf Valley, settled in the 1860s–70s largely by families from the southern states and named for the wolves early scouts found in the area. The earliest grave is that of S.T. Tollette (1882); trustees formally purchased the tract from the Davidson family in 1902, and an 1887 union church here served Baptist, Methodist, and Cumberland Presbyterian congregations. Among more than 300 marked graves are two state legislators, H.P. Taylor and W.R. Chambers, and a Texas historical marker was placed in 1983.
