History
The Northeast Texas Rural Heritage Center and Museum in Pittsburg comprises a Depot Museum and a Farmstead Museum. The Depot Museum occupies a former Cotton Belt railroad depot built in 1901 and holds artifacts dating to Pittsburg's 1854 founding, including a 1925 American LaFrance fire truck, a working telegraph, and an 1894 telephone switchboard. Its best-known exhibit is a replica of the Ezekiel Airship, which locals claimed flew in 1902, a year before the Wright brothers.
