History

The Linden Cemetery grew out of the Story family graveyard on the original Story land patent just outside downtown Linden, the Cass County seat. Edward Story and his wife Emily Jane donated fifty acres to the county for its county seat in 1848, and the oldest section of the cemetery contains graves dating to the 1850s.
