History

The Mont Belvieu-Barbers Hill Hall of History opened on March 2, 2023, through a partnership between the City of Mont Belvieu and Barbers Hill ISD to preserve the area's history and serve as a learning environment for local students. Located on the back side of the Barbers Hill ISD Administration Building at 9600 Eagle Drive, it traces the community's evolution from an early rice-farming settlement to one of the fastest-growing cities in Texas. Its exhibits highlight the discovery of oil at the Barbers Hill Salt Dome and the region's subsequent industrial development.
