History

The Celina Area Heritage Association's Visitor's Center and Museum preserves the history of Celina, a Collin County town first established about 1876 and moved some 20 years later to the railroad right-of-way by rolling its buildings across the fields. Housed in a restored former newspaper office that still holds its printing equipment, the free museum displays more than 5,000 historic photographs along with pioneer, Native American, and Spanish-American War material. It also serves as a welcome center and offices for local heritage groups.
