History

Hehr Cemetery is a small family plot named for the Hehr family, set on private land east of FM 155 south of Interstate 10, with about 11 recorded burials. Long neglected, it was cleared of heavy brush by a Boy Scout troop in the late 1980s at the urging of Joe L. Williams, who then led an effort that placed a historical marker there in early 1990. The site saw its first funeral since 1938 when Sarah Ann Caplan was interred in 1992.
