History

Clarke Farms Cemetery lies within the Fort Hood (Fort Cavazos) military reservation in western Coryell County. It is one of many family and community cemeteries preserved on the post that date to the era before Camp Hood was created in 1942, when the government took in more than 40 communities and displaced roughly 470 families across Bell and Coryell counties. Fort Hood protects these historic graveyards and hosts periodic visitation days for descendants.
