History
Known as 'the biggest little museum in Texas,' the Crockett County Museum in Ozona offers three floors of local artifacts spanning from prehistory to the present. Founded in 1939, the museum was housed in the local school until 1958, when it moved to the Courthouse Annex. That building was erected in 1926 as the Ozona Methodist Church, gutted by fire in 1942, and rebuilt to serve as a hospital before the county converted it; its exhibits reflect the ranching heritage of Crockett County, a region named for Alamo defender David Crockett.
