The Ruth Paine House Museum in Irving preserves the modest home where Ruth Paine housed Marina Oswald in 1963 and where Lee Harvey Oswald stayed on weekends and spent the night before the Kennedy assassination. According to the Warren Commission, Oswald retrieved the rifle from the home's garage on the morning of November 22, 1963. The city bought the property in 2009, restored it to its 1963 appearance, and opened it as a multimedia museum on November 6, 2013; it was listed on the National Register in 2014.
