History
The Coppell Historical Museum comprises four historic buildings at 700 S. Coppell Road, anchored by the Kirkland House, built in 1904 for the family of John M. and Edna Kirkland and among Coppell's oldest surviving homes. The 850-square-foot house was moved and restored in 2011 by the Coppell Historical Society and partners. Nearby Grapevine Springs, where Sam Houston reportedly camped during 1843 treaty negotiations, was developed as a park by the WPA in 1936.
