History
Sachse Cemetery grew from land that William Sachse, a Prussian-born Peters Colony settler and successful rancher and trader, donated in the 1890s as a site for a church and burial ground he called 'God's Acre.' The oldest marked grave is that of Sachse himself, who died in 1899 and for whose family the city of Sachse is named. The Texas Historical Commission erected a marker at the cemetery in 1985.
