History
The Denton Firefighters Museum opened in 2005 in the lobby of the city's historic Central Fire Station, tracing a department that began as an all-volunteer bucket brigade formed in 1874 at Minor's Blacksmith Shop on North Locust Street. Displays include an 1800s hose cart, equipment from a 1935 ladder truck, helmets, uniforms, fire grenades, and Denton fire report logs dating to the 1920s, plus life-size mannequins showing firefighter gear across the decades. Admission is free.
