The centerpiece of Cisco's Conrad Hilton Center is the Mobley Hotel, the first hotel ever owned by Conrad Hilton, founder of the Hilton chain. Built in 1916 by Henry Mobley during the local oil boom, the 40-room hotel was purchased by Hilton in 1919; its rooms rented in eight-hour shifts to oilfield workers, at times pushing occupancy well above capacity. Converted into a memorial museum in 1977, the building preserves two rooms as they appeared in 1919 and serves as home to the Cisco Chamber of Commerce.
