History
The Silver Dollar Cafe at 1021 South Mesa Street stands in El Paso's Segundo Barrio and was built about 1919, when the neighborhood sheltered immigrants fleeing the violence of the Mexican Revolution. By the 1930s the building had been converted into a brothel, and it is notable as the only structure in the historic Segundo Barrio listed on the National Register of Historic Places, added in 1986.
