History

Blevins Cemetery began in 1875 with the burial of Amanda Ruble Taylor, born in the Republic of Texas in 1838, on family land. Her widower, Rev. Isaac Taylor, deeded the ground to the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, in 1879. The Blevins Cemetery Association, formed in 1958, restored the site in 1991, and it received a Texas Historical Marker in 1993.
