History

The Fannin County Museum of History in Bonham occupies the restored Texas & Pacific Railroad depot, dating to about 1900. Its twelve rooms display Native American artifacts, antique farm tools, railroad memorabilia, vintage clothing, and area photographs. Notable holdings include the fire engine that fought the 1929 courthouse fire, a restored WWII PT-19 Fairchild airplane, and a tribute to jazz guitarist Charlie Christian. Admission is free.
