History
Simon Peter Ford, born in 1816, came to Texas in the 1830s and fought at the Battle of San Jacinto in 1836. He later settled in the Muldoon area of Fayette County and died in 1896 at Flatonia. He is buried in the Pitman Cemetery, where the State of Texas placed a marker in 1962 recognizing his service in the Texas Revolution.
