History
Carr's Chapel is a small country Methodist church in the Allmon community between Floydada and Petersburg, founded in 1904 and originally called the Harmony Methodist Society. Rev. William Hardy Carr, who reached Floyd County in 1901, was among its charter members, and the present chapel was built in 1914. It received a Texas historical marker in 1963 as a long-serving rural church and was recorded as a state landmark two years later.
