History
The Trinity and Brazos Valley Railroad Depot and Office Building in Teague was completed in early 1907 at a cost of about $20,000, after railroad financier Benjamin F. Yoakum made the new town a division point and renamed it Teague for his mother's family. Austin architect C. H. Page, Jr. designed the station, combining the round arches and arcades of Romanesque styling with an asymmetrical Italianate tower, and it was considered one of the handsomest depots in Texas. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, the building has housed the Burlington-Rock Island Railroad Museum since 1970.
