History

The Freestone County Historical Museum in Fairfield was established in 1967 by the county historical association and occupies a campus at 302 East Main Street. Its grounds include an 1881 jail, 1850s log cabins, the early-1900s Littlejohn farmhouse, an antique telephone exhibit, and a 1936 Ford V8 fire truck, alongside an artifact collection housed in the Bass Wing.
