History

The Garza County Historical Museum, established in 1967, occupies a 1920s building that once housed the Post Sanitarium, reportedly the best-equipped medical facility west of Fort Worth when it opened in 1912. The 26-room museum documents Garza County history from prehistory to the present, including much of the personal property of Charles William 'C.W.' Post, the cereal magnate who bought 250,000 acres to found Post City as a planned colony in 1907.
