History

The J. A. White Family Goliad Center for Texas History, housed in the Goliad County Library, is a research archive of the region's families and history. It preserves Goliad newspapers dating from 1853 to 2015 along with rare early publications, and is named for J. A. White, a 19th-century newspaper editor whose family were noted keepers of Texas history and who helped conceive Goliad State Park. It is open to researchers by appointment.
