History
Grayson County Frontier Village was formed in 1966 to save the oldest home in Sherman and grew into a 17-acre outdoor museum in Loy Park between Sherman and Denison. It features 11 historic buildings dating from 1840 to 1900 that were relocated from around the county, including the county's oldest schoolhouse, a church, a country store, and a newspaper office. A museum building was added in 1990 and a research center in 2002, and the village serves as Grayson County's official museum.
